2,000 Attend Piedmont, SC Airport Demonstration..

Chief Bishop Appears On Television Interview

The photograph above depicts one of many airport demonstrations held during Chief Bishop Grady R. Kent's tenure.  A revival where approximately 2,000 people were present was being conducted as well and Chief Bishop Grady R. Kent was interviewed on an area wide television program.

Piedmont, South Carolina was awakened by uniform riders on motorcycles as The Church of God moved into town with "Joel's horses and horsemen" to set into action a "Rendezvous with Prophecy Revival".  Three motorcycles and side-cars with messengers, tossed Vision Speaks and special invitation posters onto the porches and into the yards of hundreds of Piedmont residences.  This was an early morning rendezvous as many had not yet ventured out to get their newspapers and many had not yet gone to church.  The motorcycles were followed by the Chief Bishop Grady R. Kent, St. John II, in the specially painted and lettered auto owned by Brother and Sister Johnny Lore and son, John, of Atlanta, Georgia.  A small parade but very effective.

Special television announcements were made by a local station, WFBC-TV, who featured the Daughters of Jerusalem and gave them the opportunity to give some particulars as to time, location, and name of minister of the coming revival.

After the first week with good results on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., the plane, motorcycles and automobiles were expounded to approximately 1,000 people.  Cars lined the roads.  1,000 to 1,500 people came by and drove slow to hear the messages.  Piedmont, Greenville, Ware Shoals and Walhalla, South Carolina joined forces and saw a strong and effective airport demonstration carried out with airplanes, motorcycles and cars combined to stimulate the revealing of the signs to reveal the works of St. John II and The Church of God.  Many people expressed their interest and statements were made that they knew God had sent us there.

Brother John preached on Ezekiel's Cherubims, then Brother David Williams preached and brought out the automobile and airplane as signs and Brother Earl Steward (writer of this article) preached on Joel's Iron Horses and their fulfillments as signs of John and of Joel's Army of The Church of God.  Two were saved at services that night.

St. John also appeared on "Telescope" another feature program of the station and was interviewed by the emcee extensively.  He gave close up views of the motorcycles and plane as Brother John explained the purpose and fulfillment of them and an opportunity to see them in action the following Sunday.  This followed the airport demonstration.

The second week of preaching has consisted of messages on "research".  Brother John has done research on the Early Church and their exploits and shown their requirements and actions as God created circumstances to show His power and mercy.  The Acts of the Apostles, Peter and John, in the temple; Paul and his exploits in Ephesus that caused all of Asia to hear the word and his great court trials are some of the powerful subjects on The Chief Bishop's 'research' of The Church of God.

Many are stirred.  Visitors from Pentecostal Holiness, Baptist, and Church of God of Prophecy are attending.  This revival is just starting.
